The annoying hints to register could be ignored. Interested readers, however, had the possibility to view the original tweets including comments or further follow-up tweets even without a Twitter account. Since I also link to the original articles of the tweets, there was usually no need to go to Twitter.
With this solution, I was GDPR compliant and users could view the content of the tweets via the screenshot without having to go to the platform. For European GDPR reasons, I have admittedly chosen a special solution for quite some time: A screenshot of the tweet (or tweets) in question is embedded in the blog, which I then link to the tweet. It has "hit me cold", as I frequently use Twitter as a news source here on the blog. They will be redirected to a registration page. Windows Server 2022 cumulative update KB5026370 prevents Explorer from querying effective permissions. I've covered the issue on May 27, 2023, in the blog post Windows: Patchday issues and fixes in May 2023 (Server 2022 effective access query, VPN) what administrators reported to me right after the May 2023 patchday. The issue was caused by the May 2023 security updates for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022. Microsoft has fixed the Effective Access issue in Explorer with the Windows 11 22H2 Preview update KB5027303, dated June 27, 2023.
